TEACHING ASSISTANT

As a teaching assistant you would support teachers and help children with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom. If you enjoy working with children and young adults with special needs and would like to play a part in their education and wellbeing, please apply now. Job responsibilities include getting the classroom ready for lessons; helping children who need extra support to complete tasks; helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records; supporting teachers in managing behaviors; supervising group and individual activities; looking after students who are upset or are having difficulties; clearing away materials and equipment after lessons; helping with outings and sports events; carrying out administrative tasks and support students with particular needs, working with them individually or in small groups. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Fully bilingual (English/Spanish), Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Education, Psychology or related field, able to lift up to 50 lbs., and be able to walk, run, swim and climb stairs.

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS

We are currently seeking a certified Special Education Teachers with mild/moderate specialization in Autism able to create and supervise student educational programs aligned with our philosophy, methodology, techniques and standards of instruction. The candidate must be able to implement Individualized Education Plans goals and objectives as well as create new goals and objectives as needed; able to implement Behavior Intervention Plans created by Behavior Analysts. Other responsibilities include collaboration with outside agencies and/or school districts, continuous parent communication, administrative responsibilities including data collection, documentation, reports and evaluations, creating educational curriculum and materials, direct supervision of paraprofessionals assisting students, and direct supervision of a variety of students in different learning environments including educational outings in the community. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Fully bilingual (English/Spanish), Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, teacher certification issued by the Department of Education, minimum of 3 years of classroom experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Education with a specialization in Autism, instructional experience using ABA techniques, discrete trial and PECS.

RELATED SERVICES COORDINATOR

The Related Services Coordinator supports special education services to students through the performance of a combination of registrar and related services coordination duties. The position requires the handling of all processes requests for both new enrollments and withdrawals, maintains student files and records, schedules services with providers, facilitates communications with related services providers and performs routine administrative duties. The position serves as the primary point of contact between the providers and the teachers, staff and parents in regards to any therapy or related services provided to students through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and helps ensure that these services are provided in a manner that adheres to all federal and state requirements. Candidate must have excellent organizational and time management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, must be detail oriented, have experience using a student information system and/or other type of database, professional experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook, is able to identify errors in student data and information, able to multi-task, get tasks done quickly and accurately, and be customer service oriented, flexible and a team player. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Fully bilingual (English/Spanish), Bachelor’s Degree, minimum of 3 years experience as administrator preferably in a school setting.
